Personality: As soon as Dark Hunter stepped onto Firestone property, we didn't expect what kind of challenge this colt would give us. At first glance you would think he had a kind eye; until you turn your back on him and feel his teeth graze the skin on your back. Arrogant and hot headed, a trait his sire was known for around the barn. Dave can turn evil if he doesn't get his way and makes sure you know it. Although not the biggest horse on the farm, he acts like he's the king and makes sure his presence is known to all who visit. Dave is often not allowed to interact with anybody but the Firestone staff, for the safety of visitors. If he is kept in his stall for too long, Dave will get restless and pretty much tear his whole stall apart. This colt is smart, almost too smart, for his own good - the bugger knows how to break open his door if it's not secured properly. He's the first one to greet the mares when he gets loose, with his tail held high as he snorts and shows off for the ladies. Luckily, we've caught him before things go south and he often loses interest after a while, or if he sees a nice juicy patch of grass.
RACE INFORMATION
Grade 3
7-12 furlongs (2f surface extension applied jan wk2 y20) Turf [Good] Dirt [Great] Race Results: 29 | 8-4-8 | 63% HOTY POINT(S) | 0 Running Style: Versatile Dave can run comfortably in just about any position depending on how he likes his rider that very day. As any smart horse is, he is quick to shoot out of the gates and, although being versatile, prefers to be near the front spot at all times. Dave is the type of horse to charge or nip at any horses in range of his mouth if they challenge him too aggressively. He's smart and knows when to save his energy if the pace is too quick - he'll race across to the outside and stay clear from the pace to save himself. Build like a tank, Dave has a surprisingly graceful stride and uses it to his advantage. He's quick to get down to business on the track and easily dominates the task at hand. He always pushes himself to reach the wire first. WORKOUTS
