Personality: Point Taken is very much a barn favorite with a world of personality. He's the first to poke his head out of the stall and happily greet his people with a soft nicker of hello. His gentleness is what attracts everyone to him and he's the first horse that the staff will bring newcomers to meet. Taki loves children especially, finding their timid curiosity to be endearing. His brown eyes will go soft and liquid and he'll wiggle his little lips over their soft hair to their delight. Of the horses at Winchester Racing, Taki is the only one that can be led about the farm without a chain and barely a fingertip on the lead rope. His people-personality resulted in him being an easier horse to train from a young age as he is so very in your pocket. His easy going demeanor has just created more of that favoritism between horse and human. His trainer finds Taki to be very easy going, relaxed and confident, often joking that Point Taken was lucky to be born in the Year Nineteen crop as he likely would have gotten his butt handed to him by the Year Eighteen colt crop.
Grade 5
6-9 furlongs Turf [Good] Dirt [Great] Race Results: 3 | 1-2-0 | 100% Running Style: Early Mid Pack Taki changes a little bit in the racing atmosphere, becoming more on his toes and focused. He doesn't particularly like to be crowded so migrating from the barn to the paddock between the humans can be a bit overwhelming. He'll sweat a bit, but that's the only notice he gives his staff regarding his displeasure of the situation. Otherwise, he is still that eager beaver, kind-natured animal going about his business. He'll gnaw on his leather lead in the saddling stall while his humans go about their business, often watching the movement of his rivals and their humans as they go about their business. When he's saddled, Taki gets a little on the muscle, prancing sideways and gnawing again at his bit to vent his over eagerness. All of his tension dissipates on the track and in the gate because as nervous as crowds make him, he is a confident horse in the wide open space of a dirt track. Point Taken will break well, but almost never counts himself in the top three running positions. He appreciates the good mid-pack position where is able to bide his time and cruise along in contentment. Not above relishing a good chase, when Taki is given his head, he'll drop parallel to the ground and surge forward as if he's one of Hell's hounds. Down the stretch, Taki cuts an imposing figure as he storms down the lane, eyes lit with determination and ferocity, as he reminds the crowd that just because he's nice, doesn't mean he isn't ruthless.
